According to a spokesman for the New York Police Department, the whole thing happened last Sunday at 10:25 pm (local time) in the Steinway Street subway station in Astoria, a borough of the New York borough of Queens.
As the “New York Post“reported, an unknown man had a” Citi Bike “rolled onto the rails. These rental bicycles are offered throughout the city and should normally be parked at designated stations.
However, this two-wheeler landed on the railroad tracks – and apparently only a few seconds before a train pulled in.

Lots of sparks fly, the train comes to a stop at the stop and the entire station fills with smoke from the explosion. Some people are fleeing, it is currently not known whether anyone has been injured.

The video is from a young woman named Jasmine. Under her post, she explains that only a few seconds had passed between the time the stranger threw the bike on the rails and the arrival of the train.
That’s why she couldn’t manage to alert help quickly enough before the explosive disaster took its course. A rescue operation of her own was also out of the question for her, as trains came from both directions and she did not want to risk her life.
