Mathieu van der Poel was fined for the fight with two teenagers.
The 27-year-old Dutchman has to pay the equivalent of around 1,000 francs because he is said to have pushed a 13- and 14-year-old girl to Wollongong, Australia the night before Sunday’s World Cup race and was then arrested.
The two boys repeatedly knocked on Van der Poel’s door, disturbing his sleep before the race.
law in their own hands
The case was due to be heard on Tuesday, but was brought forward at the request of the defender.
The judge ruled that Van der Poel had taken over the law. It was recommended to call the security service of the hotel.
The defender challenged the sanction. Regardless, Van der Poel can begin the return journey. At the road race of the World Championship, he went out after 30 kilometers because he was out of strength and was “mentally destroyed”.
