The Jochen-Klepper-Haus on Ostlandstrasse was crowded on April 11 and 12, because the German Red Cross (DRK) Herbern had called for blood donations again. Some people followed this request. On both days, 248 volunteers took part in the campaign and each donated 500 milliliters of their blood. This time there were even six first-time donors.
After the usual break, we went to the café of the Church of the Resurrection for refreshment. Here the DRK team had set up a rich roll buffet. There were also cold drinks and coffee. A donor from Herbern smiled: “I never drink coffee at this time, but after donating blood I always treat myself to the coffee with the delicious rolls here. The egg rolls in particular are my favorite.” A young lady also praised the event: “As always, Herbern is super organized and just nice.”
Next action in July
The German Red Cross team was also very satisfied with the blood donation campaign. In addition to a bag of sweets, there was also a bottle of hand disinfectant and a discount voucher for the local pharmacy as a thank you for all donors.
The appointment reservation for the two days took place online again and was well received according to the DRK Herbern. On July 25th and 26th there will be the next opportunity to donate blood in Herbern.
