SLOVAKIA – A few days ago, sad news circulated in Slovakia. Jana Duchnovská, who was a representative in today’s gymnastics, died at the age of 31. We were the first to report that it was a terrible accident behind her sudden departure. Now it has been confirmed what misfortune was behind her death.

“Jana Duchnovská, a representative in today’s gymnastics, the president of the club Gaja Košice, left us suddenly on July 3, 2024 at the age of 31. The SGF sends express sincere condolences to the family and to the people who lost their lives. wrote a week ago Slovak Athletics Federation.

However, the public did not know the cause of her death until recently. Czech only electronic confirmed that she died in a terrible road accident near the city of Mladá Boleslav. Janka Duchnovská shot to death in her car, which was also confirmed by representatives of the Central Bohemian police.

“The accident actually happened on July 3, shortly before midnight, on the I/16 highway. A passenger car driver rammed into a guardrail for unknown reasons and her car caught fire. The passenger was taken to the hospital, unfortunately, the woman remained trapped in the car and died on the spot. The Mladoboleslav police officers are investigating the whole incident and they are finding out the exact situation, causes and course of the accident.” said the police of the Central Bohemian Region.

She founded her own club

As an athlete, Jana Duchnovská devoted herself to modern gymnastics. She started with her in her hometown Košice. She represented Slovakia at several European and World Championships. “With her hard work and passion for athletics, she has been a role model for many younger athletes. She never stopped, and even when we were faced with new challenges, she always tried to move forward.” wrote the alliance.

According to her colleagues, she had a great talent and love for sports. She was also a very active member of the athletic community. After an active career, she founded the gymnastics club Gaja Košice, of which I was the president.
