Big summer concert announced in Central Park

The city government plans a massive concert in Central Park to celebrate the return to normality, after the harsh months of the pandemic.

The three-hour event is tentatively scheduled for August 21 and the city plans to host renowned artists, although the participants have yet to be announced.

The Great Lawn in Central Park has hosted several major concerts over the years, including the legendary performance of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel in 1981.

The most attended show was a 1986 New York Philharmonic performance, attended by 800,000 people.

The city is limiting the number of attendees for the August concert to 60,000.

The concert is being produced by legendary New York-born producer Clive Davis, who has worked with artists such as Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen and Alicia Keys.
