We already know that we are in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever many of the faces from the first part get to see again. But which character will take center stage and which actor will play the role of the as-yet-unknown villain remains something known only at Marvel Studios headquarters for now.
Now we may know a little more about the story. An unofficial synopsis from Production Weekly (via The DisInsider) seems to indicate we’re seeing a war between Atlantis and Wakanda.
Clash between Wakanda and Atlantis
“Both Wakanda and Atlantis are hidden civilizations with advanced technology and heightened militaristic capabilities that decided to secede from the rest of the world for their own safety, and in a way, out of fear,” reads the text.
“Wakanda feared their technology would be misused. Atlantis feared that surface dwellers would come and desecrate the mythical city, just as they did so many years ago. And yet their fear escalates even further when these two once-hidden nations collide.” continues the potentially revealing synopsis.
And finally: “Wakanda and Atlantis have a shockingly intertwined histories. Wakanda is the only county in the world with access to vibranium. However, rumors of its power spread around the world, and Namor’s human father was sent to investigate this rare material at Antarctica.”
Ryan Cooglers Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is currently scheduled for July 8, 2022.
