Rings of Power season 2 is in production in the UK and will likely release in early 2024 instead of late 2023. The Amazon Prime TV series about Middle-earth will return for a third season.
Given the great success of the first season of Rings of Power we know that the second season is in production in the United Kingdom and that from the rumors of the head of Amazon Studios Vernon Sanders it will be possible to see it on Amazon Prime not before 2024.
There are also rumors that there may already be a third season. For now there are no official confirmations that it will be produced but certainly there are all the conditions for a long-term project. Sanders said that “We’re making investments to make sure we’re ready.” He added: “Since its release, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has brought audiences together to experience the magic and wonder of JRR Tolkien’s majestic Middle-earth. ”
The debut of The Rings of Power immediately met with incredible success, placing itself at the first place in the Nielsen streaming charts. The last episode of the first season has become a trending topic on Twitter and was commented on in 27 different markets for a total of 426 hours.
This production has really attracted many users who have subscribed to Amazon Prime just to see the series on the platform.
The success of the Rings of Power series and new seasons on the horizon
From Amazon’s perspective it’s not difficult to understand that they want to go as far as possible in this project, above all because the investment has been considerable (we are talking about a billion dollars for the first season alone).
In the previous weeks, both the names of the three directors who will direct the episodes of the second season have come out, as well as an enrichment of the cast with new actors has also been announced.
It should be noted that the production of the second season has already started for a couple of months. The first season required a work that lasted about three years but thanks to the work done previously and the experience gained, it won’t take so many years for the production of the next ones. At least, that’s what we hope.
