According to the Chinese Table Tennis Association’s “Table Tennis Events 2024 Paris Olympic Games Participation and Selection Relevant International Competition Registration Rules” concerning the registration of Asian Games athletes, according to the latest world rankings announced by the ITTF before the registration deadline (July 4, 2023 ), the coaching staff of the national team will comprehensively consider factors such as the technical and tactical characteristics of the athletes, the overall multi-event arrangement, the doubles ranking, and the performance of the main opponents.

The table tennis competition of the Asian Games has 7 events including men’s and women’s teams, men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Among them, the men’s team members are Wang Chuqin, Fan Zhendong, Ma Long, Lin Gaoyuan, and Liang Jingkun; the women’s team players are Sun Yingsha, Wang Yidi, Chen Meng, Wang Manyu, and Chen Xingtong.

In the singles competition, the men’s team sent two players, Wang Chuqin and Fan Zhendong, while the women’s team was played by Sun Yingsha and Wang Yidi. It is reported that the table tennis competition venue for the Asian Games is Gongshu Canal Sports Park Gymnasium, located in Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, on the northwest side of the Asian Games Village and about 14.5 kilometers away, including the competition hall and warm-up hall. The warm-up hall is located in the auxiliary hall and is connected to the main hall through an underground passage.
