Kida Ramadan, known from the hit series “4 Blocks”, hit the headlines a few months ago when he was convicted of 33 counts of driving without a license. On the popular WDR talk show “Kölner Treff,” the 48-year-old spoke openly about his prison sentence and the reasons behind his repeated violations of the law.

“Big mistake”

When moderator Susan Link asked why he drove without a license, Ramadan was unable to give a clear answer. He argued in court that he could not use public transport because of his fame.

Today, Ramadan sees his actions in a different light. He admitted he made a “big mistake” and recognizes the importance of the consequences of his actions. “I thought I was coming out of it okay – but I didn’t come out of it well,” he said. This experience opened his eyes and helped him understand the seriousness of his wrongdoing. For Ramadan, driving without a license had become the norm, so much so that even his children never questioned whether he had a license.

Ramadan actually spent a total of four weeks in prison. He is currently enjoying the benefits of open prison, which allows him to work on a new series. His daily routine consists of leaving the prison in the morning to work in the editing room and returning in the evening. This routine allows him to fulfill his professional obligations while facing the consequences of his actions.

Despite the adverse circumstances, Ramadan is determined to learn from his mistakes and shape his future positively. On the talk show, he expressed clear plans to finally get his driver’s license in order to avoid further legal problems. “I will definitely, definitely get my f*cking driver’s license,” he emphasized emphatically.

This determination shows that Ramadan is willing to take responsibility for his actions and take the necessary steps to live a lawful life.
