Big fire in old cigar factory in Hilversum | Inland

According to him, the fire rages on the second floor and the building was renovated. It is said to be a monumental factory building from 1883.

Some adjacent buildings have been temporarily evacuated because the residents were bothered by the smoke.

Due to the enormous smoke development, an NL alert has been issued. Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed. People are urged not to come and watch the fire and if they do, keep them 1.5 meters apart.

According to regional media, the municipality of Hilversum has recently presented plans to realize about fifty care homes in the old cigar factory.

It is not yet known how the fire started.
