After his active football career, Theo Janssen has time for other hobbies: the former midfielder of FC Twente and Ajax, among others, is brewing his own beer at the moment. With the necessary self-mockery, as we are used to from Janssen.
Janssen came up with a striking answer when asked about his favorite beer. “It is brewed now, so you can taste it in a while”, Janssen tells in conversation with Omroep Gelderland. Janssen calls the beer ‘Fat Prince’, after the nickname he received from Marcel van Roosmalen, the author of his book.
The beer is brewed in the Arnhem brewery Durs. “I had previously ordered some beers from that company and then I came into contact with them. After that, the question was asked to do something together and that was arranged fairly quickly”, says Janssen. “It will be a strong blonde. A slightly heavier beer. I like that”, the former midfielder concludes.
