Big dick energy without political direction – The work

“Don’t worry, organize yourself” Sara Skyttedal might have thought when Ebba Busch called and poked her in favor of your new bestie Alice Teodorescu Måwe. And the quickest to pick up the rubble was none other than luxury hulk Jan Emanuel.

With incredible confidence in their own abilities, Sara Skyttedal and Jan Emanuel launch a new party, or initiative, ahead of the upcoming EU elections: Folklistan.

Launched at Henrik Jönsson

Sweden has been a doormat in the EU, states the odd duo in their first interview with none other than the right-wing YouTube mogul Henrik Jönsson. A timely launch decision, one must say.

Swedish established parties with inhibiting party cultures are harmful, they state. This failed meritocracy has meant that they, two great politicians with the potential to change, are now outside the regular playing field. We just can’t have it like that.

It is difficult to influence in the EU, notes Skyttedal in Jönsson’s studio. However, if you are talented, dedicated and work hard, you can get things done. But real change depends on “the right kind of person” who doesn’t have to take a party into account.

Other politicians too bad

Swedish politicians are said to have been too bad at representing the interests of Sweden and Swedes. Now they hope to be sent to Brussels to make sure that the average Swede gets bang for his buck.

Jan Emanuel, former Social Democratic Member of Parliament, now a Social Democrat mainly via self-identification says as usual that he still hopes for “classic Social Democratic politics”. He “wants change” despite the realization that no “dance on roses” awaits.

He dismisses the fact that he and Sara Skyttedal are on opposite sides of politics with the fact that both are both Christian and conservative. If they get into parliament, think they will sit in different party groups to maximize their influence. Lone warriors in party group colossuses don’t sound like a smart idea, though.

Jan Emanuel show

Jan Emanuel is a showman. He likens the city council to sticking needles under his fingernails as proof of his persistence. He notes that “if you enjoy, you win”.

Skyttedal states that it is “extremely difficult to change the EU”. Nevertheless, this is precisely the non-party Folklistan going to the polls. And time is short. In just two months there are elections. No party, or non-party for that matter, has ever managed anything like this.

Has there been any estimate, Jönsson wonders. Jan Emanuel answers with what he confuses with humility that he does not know.

But a party cannot function as a labor market intervention for politicians who have been stabbed in the back by disloyal friends. Nor for bored millionaires with dreams of the political career that never materialized.

Revenge, revenge or ego trip?

“We want to represent the voters,” says Skyttedal. “Sweden does not need better ideologies but better politicians,” says Jan Emanuel.

Revenge, revenge or ego trip. Regardless of how one interprets the Folklistan, it does not feel very likely that they will succeed in getting more than the half million votes required for two mandates.

Even if all eligible voters were to suffer the same sense of injustice as these self-proclaimed geniuses, this will not happen. But you can always threaten to leave the EU, right?

Now they are driving, the Bonnie and Clyde of Swedish politics. Two wounded animals with nothing to lose. With Skyttedal and Jan Emanuel you get big dick energy and threats of Swexit. But nothing more.
