Since May 16, the beaches closed for almost two months, were able to reopen almost everywhere on the coast of Nord Pas-de-Calais. This reopening is accompanied by very strict conditions: ban on installing your towel for sunbathing or picnicking, on pain of a fine of 135 euros. The beaches must be dynamic: you can walk there or do individual sports.
In Bray-Dunes, a team of France 3 spent the climb this Thursday in the company of a team of ten gendarmes who were deployed to monitor the application of the measures on the Bray-Dunes and Zuydcoot coastline to ensure that the rules are known and respected by all and doing prevention.

But due to a very large influx, the gendarmes were overwhelmed by the situation and the municipal police of Dunkirk came to reinforce to enforce these rules. Assessment of this first day of the ascent bridge: about thirty verbalizations in a single day.
The gendarmes interviewed explained that most of the people they met understood these rules but did not apply them automatically: many people settled on the beaches, in the dunes to sunbathe and picnic. Reinforcement of controls, even return on reopening measures
The gendarmerie therefore plans to reinforce the troops patrolling the coast and will rearrange its system in the coming days to avoid this kind of scene. “The purpose of our presence is to avoid a closure and to live a bearable progressive deconfinement, recalls Franck Chacon, commander of the gendarmerie company of Dunkirk-Hoymille. If no one understands, the danger and risk is closure.“
The prefect of the North, Michel Lalande, had also been very clear on this point: these measures to reopen the beaches are “derogatory and precarious. If overflows are noted, the prefect will have to reconsider this exemption“, indicate our colleagues from France Television.
