Top start for end of year celebrations in Caen (Calvados) ! This Saturday, November 27, 2021, at nightfall, the city center will be the setting for a Remue-Ménage ambulatory show, just before the launch of illuminations.
From the theater to Place Saint-Sauveur
Already passed through the city of William the Conqueror in 2018, the company Stir-Household is back in Caen this Saturday, November 27, 2021.
From 5:30 p.m., these artists will invite you to follow the marvelous procession of the show The Flight, “An imaginary world populated by crazy characters and superb birds”, describes Pradal-Chazarenc, the deputy mayor in charge of trade and crafts.

The stroll will start from the theater square, before crossing the Pierre-Aimé-Lair, Strasbourg, Saint-Pierre and Demolombe streets, to join the place Saint-Sauveur.
If wearing a mask is compulsory on Christmas markets (Place du Théâtre, Place de la République, Bv Leclerc), it is not in Caen for the moment in other streets. On this subject, the prefect invites the mayors of each municipality who feel concerned, to request “the taking of a prefectural decree, specifying in the body of the message, the exhaustive list of the streets concerned”, by a very high attendance. Also, the prefect invites, for outdoor events attracting the public, “when a control is physically possible, to require the health pass in order to access it”. This will not be the case for the ambulation.
Launch of the illuminations
This Saturday will also mark the official launch of the illuminations in the city center and the districts, at 7 p.m. sharp. The City has put the package “with more than 700 decorations and patterns, and 15 km of garlands, around the theme of gold and silver”, specifies Ludwig Willaume, the deputy mayor in charge of public spaces.
Illuminations will also be launched for the occasion “on the facades of the Hôtel-de-Ville, the Place Saint-Sauveur, the Leroy Tower and the Guérinière water tower”.
Three large fir trees will also be installed in places Saint-Sauveur and de la République, and in Square Soreth. 25 smaller trees will also be located on Boulevard Leclerc and in the squares of Caen neighborhoods.
