This is the third such contract in a row, which has been concluded in the last six months, the road agency announced.

The contract signed by the chairman of API’s Board of Directors, Eng. Yasen Yordanov, and the company’s executive directors, Hristo Daskalov and Angelina Todorov, is part of the second stage of the General Terms and Conditions for electronic toll collection. With it, it is possible to start a procedure for proving interoperability.

The company was registered as a national service provider in the National Electronic Register of National Service Providers for Electronic Toll Collection on May 11, 2022, but the procedure had not yet reached the contract signing stage.

Once it is already a fact, it will be possible to proceed to the integration process. The company will have to successfully pass a series of tests within a year, after which the contract will enter into force at the stage of technical operation and the company will be able to provide services to users of the toll road network, according to API.

Up to now, with two national service providers – “Intelligent Traffic Systems” EAD and “Digital Smart Infrastructure” AD, the operational phase has been reached and the companies offer the sale of tolls – e-vignette and toll.
