Fuel prices at domestic gas stations fell to their lowest value for the last year, according to a report on the fuelo specialized site. This is mainly due to the decrease in the price of oil on the world exchanges.
The average price of “black gold” in world trade reached $75.03/barrel at the beginning of last week, which is also a record for the last one year. A similar price was briefly recorded at the end of 2023. After reaching the price of $75, the barrel began to rise in price, realizing a five-day streak of gains and returning again to $80. Yesterday, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) lowered its forecast for demand growth in 2024, which effectively means that the price will continue to move downwards.
Against this background, fuel prices at local gas stations reached record low levels on an annual basis. The biggest decrease is in the case of diesel, which to date is traded for an average of BGN 2.60/l. According to the specialized site, diesel has become cheaper on average by 9 percent over the last year, which is 3.35%.
The price of gasoline has decreased by 10 cents for the last 12 months, or 3.68%. Both of the most popular fuels are currently trending lower in price, but if oil continues to rise in price, it will certainly reflect on the column prices.
Unlike diesel and gasoline, gas has become more expensive on an annual basis, with an average increase of 5 percent, that is, by 4.42%. An increase was also recorded in the price of methane, as the kilogram rose in price by 6 cents – 2.99%.
The Plovdiv district ranks second in the country in terms of the lowest fuel prices, with Yambol being the leader. The third place goes to Pazardzhik, and the fourth is the capital Sofia. The most expensive fuels are traditionally in Kardzhali, followed by Smolyan and Razgrad regions, writes TrafikNews.
Fuel prices in Plovdiv are between 2 and 4 percent lower than the average for the country, with gasoline costing BGN 2.58/l, diesel BGN 2.57/l, LPG – BGN 1.16/l. l, and methane BGN 1.99/kg.
