Big Apple Halloween Parade Returns This Year Thanks to Large Donation – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORKNew York City’s Halloween celebration returns with its iconic Halloween parade on October 31.

The event will be held thanks to a large donation from Jason Feldman, CFO of UBS Financial Services, who decided to help out after learning that the annual Halloween parade, which takes place in The Village, was to be canceled due to lack of funds.

Jeanne Fleming, who has been producing the parade for the past 40 years, said it took hundreds of thousands of dollars to put on the show. The costume parade was already canceled last year due to COVID-19 and the parade budget shortfall plus costly security were to be the end of the festivities this year.

“On the one hand, it seems like a very big number, but on the other hand, I think I’ve gotten used to helping people with big numbers,” Felman said.

When and what time is the parade?

The parade will take place on October 31 from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Where is the parade?

The parade will run from Sixth Avenue and Spring Street to 16th Street.

What is this year’s theme?

This year’s theme is “Let’s Play” or Let´s Play. The theme was chosen because according to the organizers the parade is dedicated to the children of New York who could not have a regular Halloween in 2020 due to the pandemic.

New York City children will design giant puppets to lead the parade and Randy Rainbow, a New York comedian known for his satirical YouTube videos, will act as Grand Marshal.

What biosecurity guidelines will be followed?

With the pandemic still ongoing, organizers said all CDC guidelines will be followed and urged attendees to wear creative Halloween-themed masks.
