From July 9 to September 12, the Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars” will host an exhibition inspired by the city of winds entitled “A Man Lost at Sea by Liepāja”. Artists Egons Peršēvics, Uldis Rubezis, Ieva Rubeze and Raids Kalniņš have united in the exhibition of contemporary art and will reflect on the theme of the sea and humanity, the representatives of the concert hall informed.
“Despite the fact that the sea is constantly eating something, the desire to be close to it is not fully explained. The link between the human brain and the ocean / sea has been very little studied – the first scientific conference on this issue took place only in 2011. year, “announced in the exhibition application. At the conference, American scientist Michael Merzenich linked the force of attraction of the sea to the process of human evolution, concluding that “perhaps we are vibrating at the same frequency as the sea.”
The works created by the artists – installations, paintings and sculptural objects – will be placed both in the art space “Civita Nova” on the 1st floor of the “Big Amber” and in the galleries of the higher floors of the concert hall.
