According to the concert hall, primary school students are invited to participate in the interactive “Zoom” lesson “From noise to composition”, while senior students are encouraged to discover the world of jazz music in an exciting concert lecture “Jazz lesson for young people”.

In the musical educational lesson “From noise to composition” 1.-4. Class students are given the opportunity to help the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra (LSO), which is in a difficult situation. As the concert approached, the orchestra realized that they urgently lacked the accompaniment of a Latvian folk song, so the students had to come to their aid. In the 50-minute lesson, primary school students apply the knowledge already acquired in music lessons and continue to get to know the Latvian folk heritage – folk songs. In the second part of the lesson, the participants will be joined by a mysterious guest – a musician of the oldest orchestra in the Baltics (LSO), who will tell about his role in the orchestra, as well as introduce the playing of his instrument.

According to the creators of the program, the educational lesson created last year has received positive feedback from school groups, but at a time when we cannot meet in person, the lesson takes place on the digital platform “Zoom”. With the help of the platform, students will be able to participate in an interactive and exciting lesson, as well as look at the architecture of Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars” with the help of a virtual walk. Participation fee – 4 euros per student, but for the teacher participation is free. The time of the lesson is adjusted for each individual group.

In turn, the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” has prepared a video concert and introductory conversation for senior students, where young people will be able to discover the wide world of jazz music together with jazz experts. In the introductory conversation with saxophonist, jazz teacher Denis Pashkevich and pianist, composer Kristaps Vanadzins, you will be able to find out who are the most famous jazz music recording companies and which are the world’s brightest jazzmen, who were the first Latvian jazz pioneers and who are Latvia’s modern jazz flags. In the second part of the video material, we will listen to both world jazz classics and music created by Kristaps Vanadziņš himself, performed by a trio led by him. Exciting and exploratory material is complemented by specially designed visualizations that reveal to young people in a free and unforced form the most interesting and significant facts about jazz. After watching the recording, young people are invited to complete tests to test their attention and consolidate their newly acquired knowledge.

The ticket price for the concert lecture “Jazz Hour for Youth” per spectator is 5 euros. Purchase of connection tickets: www.bilesuparadize.lv. When purchasing a recording, the buyer will receive an access link and a code via e-mail, which will allow them to watch the video material. Recording time: 66 minutes.

For group and class ticket reservations, teachers and other interested parties are invited to contact Aiva Juhnevica, Head of Marketing and Public Relations (e .: [email protected]). Classes are included in the Cultural Education Program “Latvian School Bag”.
