The Biedronka chain of stores, where many Czechs also like to shop, has big problems in Poland. The Portuguese chain has been operating in our northern neighbors for 30 years and wants to expand to Slovakia this year. However, customers are now complaining about it more and more often.
The Moje Biedronka application currently complicates people’s lives the most, which after the update works much worse and sometimes doesn’t work at all. Many Czechs who like to shop in the chain also have this application. Polish writes about it web Onet.pl.
With the latest version of the software, it takes a long time to turn on, hangs, or requires verification by entering a phone number and code every time. This then significantly increases the time of using the application. The chain admits the problems. “Currently we have a temporary technical problem, the solution of which we are intensively working. We will inform about the resolution of the situation,” wrote to customers discount.
According to him, a similar problem appeared several years ago, and the Polish Office for Economic Competition and Consumer Protection and employees attributed it to technical difficulties even then.
The rating of the Biedronka app in the Play Store dropped to 1.4 out of five stars. At the same time, customers use it thanks to favorable events. When the payment application fails at the cash register and the customer does not have a card with him, he has only two options. Either wait patiently for the system to work and spend a long time in the store, or pay a higher price.
But the problems don’t end there. “People have been complaining for a long time about the pallets placed everywhere in the store, which prevent them from moving. It is said that it is often impossible to get over them with a shopping cart. They also draw attention to the fact that products that should be kept in the cold remain on the pallets in the middle of the store for long hours,” the Polish portal further states.
One of the largest Polish retail chains, which belongs to the Portuguese group Jerónimo Martins, should soon enter the Slovak market. He intends to open the first stores there at the end of this year, a Polish news website reported last year Interia Business.
The golden days of Czech e-shops are over. Inflation and foreign competition are crushing them (16/1/2024):
