CBS aired an exclusive interview with US President Biden on Sunday (18), in which he reaffirmed that the US military would defend Taiwan once mainland China attacked Taiwan. White House officials reiterated that US policy towards Taiwan remains unchanged.
The host inquired about Biden’s position on Taiwan. You pointed out that the United States accepted the document signed a long time ago. Biden also revealed that the leaders of China and Russia met at the Beijing Winter Olympics in February of this year, and shortly thereafter he called Chinese leaders to ask the other side not to violate Western sanctions against Russia. Biden said: “I called the Chinese leader, not a threat, I just told him, we have met many times, if you think that after China violates sanctions against Russia, Americans and others will continue to invest in China, I think you made a huge mistake. But it’s your decision. “
Biden did not explain the time and details of the call, and the leaders of China and the United States had a phone call in March of this year.
