WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – President AS Joe Biden urges US citizens to leave immediately Ukraine on Thursday (10/2/2022).
Biden conveyed his insistence when Russia held military exercises in Belarus and increased troop numbers near Ukraine, increasing fears of an invasion.
Currently, tensions between Washington and Moscow are at their highest point since the Cold War AFP.

Reports say about 130,000 Russian troops grouped in dozens of combat brigades are deployed near Ukraine.
“The Americans have to go now,” Biden said in a taped interview with NBC News.
“We are dealing with one of the greatest armies in the world. It’s a very different situation and things can go crazy fast.”
Biden insisted that under no circumstances would he send US troops to Ukraine, not even to save Americans if Russia invaded Ukraine.

“It was a world war. When Americans and Russians started shooting at each other, we were in a very different world,” Biden said.
Biden’s remarks came hours after Russia launched its tanks across Belarus for military exercises.
NATO has issued a stern warning for Russia’s actions and the West is increasingly concerned that war could break out.
NATO said the deployment of missiles and combat equipment from Russia marked a dangerous moment for Europe after 30 years since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

A number of Western leaders have also traveled back and forth to Mokswa in an effort to keep communication lines open.
However, they also have not granted Russia’s request, one of which is reducing NATO’s power in Eastern Europe.
“Russia should not underestimate our unity and determination as partners in the European Union and as allies in NATO,” said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
To reduce the possibility of a potential conflict, US and Belarusian defense officials held a telephone conversation, an extremely rare event.

On the other hand, Russia has also sent six warships through Turkey’s Bosphorus Strait for naval exercises in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
Kiev condemned the presence of the ships as an unprecedented attempt to isolate Ukraine from both seas.
Moscow and Minsk have not disclosed how many troops are participating in the drills.
However, the US estimates that about 30,000 troops have been sent to Belarus from a number of locations including from the Russian Far East.
