NANTUCKET, Mass. (Reuters) – U.S. President Biden on Wednesday urged President Trump to reconsider plans to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada, saying they could damage “close ties” with allies.
Speaking to reporters on Nantucket Island during his visit, Biden said the United States should not jeopardize relations with nearby allies Mexico and Canada, saying the tariffs Trump’s proposal is fruitless. “I hope you’ll reconsider,” he said.
