The president had initially contracted the virus on July 21 and after suffering from mild symptoms, tested negative last Tuesday. As part of the daily COVID-19 tests he undergoes, he unexpectedly tested positive again on Saturday. Something that, in the words of Biden himself, “happens to a minority of people” who receive the five-day treatment with the Paxlovid pill. This Monday, his doctor said in a note sent by the White House that the president continues to test positive for the virus and that he started the week “feeling good.”
