U.S. President Joe Biden continued to reverse the Donald Trump administration’s policy by abolishing restrictions on abortion on the 28th (local time) and expanding access to medical insurance for low-income families.

According to foreign media such as USA Today and CNN, President Biden signed a memorandum to withdraw the so-called “Mexico City policy,” banning funding to international organizations that promote and promote abortion or provide abortion procedures.

The’Mexico City policy’ originated from the advocacy of former President Ronald Reagan at a demographic conference held in Mexico City in 1984. It was later scrapped by Democratic presidents and then restored by Republican presidents.

The memo also contained a review of a policy that prevented funding for US medical institutions providing abortion referrals. President Biden said the memo “will overturn the predecessor’s attack on women’s access to health.”

Earlier, the White House said in a statement that President Biden announced the president’s action to “support the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls not only in the United States, but also worldwide.”

On that day, President Biden also signed an executive order that would allow more people to receive the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obama Care.

This order contains a three-month period starting from February 15th for a special registration period for medical insurance. For the former administration, the registration period was 6 weeks. President Biden stressed that, as the “Corona 19 crisis” continues, it is time to regain access to health care and appropriate programs.

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, a non-profit private foundation in the United States, the executive order allows nearly 9 million uninsured Americans to receive health insurance benefits through a special enrollment period.

President Biden also ordered federal agencies to review policies that undermined ObamaCare and made it difficult for Americans to enroll in Medicaid or reduced insurance coverage.
