- US President Biden receives his French counterpart Macron in Washington.
- Charles Michel, the president of the European Council is in Beijing for a one-day visit to speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Relations between Beijing and Brussels have not gotten easier since the EU labeled China a “strategic rival”.
- Major cities in the Netherlands and Belgium are holding their breath for Morocco’s World Cup match against Canada. Riots erupted in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague on Sunday after Morocco’s victory over Belgium. Cities have made preparations to prevent a recurrence.
- Russia is tightening its legislation to deal with organizations the Kremlin says are under “foreign influence”. The “military censorship” law is also tightened, making war topics a prohibited topic.

The leader of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group. killed in Syria. His death was confirmed by an IS spokesman in an audio message. Abu al-Hassan al-Qurayshi became the supreme leader of IS earlier this year, the terrorist organization has already appointed a new leader – Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurayshi.
