Biden outlines a 100-day plan to fight Covid-19 / Day

The three main goals are to require the wearing of masks in federal buildings and transportation, to vaccinate at least 100 million people, and to reopen most schools, Biden said.

“The Covid-19 virus will not be stopped in my first 100 days, which I cannot promise,” the newly elected president said in a speech to Delaware. “But I’m absolutely convinced that in 100 days we can change the course of this disease and change life in America to make it better.”

Biden urged Congress to adopt an economic stimulus package, which has been stalled for months, and to fully fund the distribution of vaccines. Otherwise, people in the United States may have to wait several months for vaccinations.

Biden described the coronavirus pandemic as “one of the toughest challenges America has ever faced.”

“We are in a dark winter. To a large extent, it could be that the situation will get worse before it gets better,” he warned.

Biden also introduced his health team, including California Attorney General Javier Beser, who has been appointed health minister.
