The two leaders, according to the Élysée, agreed that the release of the hostages should be achieved without further delay, which could lead to a de-escalation of the crisis.

They also agreed that there is an urgent need to ensure humanitarian access to Gaza, commensurate with the great needs of the urban population. The two presidents also confirmed the need to avoid the extension of the crisis in Lebanon.
It is noted that at least 29,514 Palestinians have lost their lives and 69,616 have been injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7. The revised death toll in Israel from the October 7 attacks stands at 1,139.
