Voters who voted for Biden in the 2020 election now support his primary rival, Donald Trump. That’s right, according to the results of a poll by The New York Times and Siena College.
According to the results of the survey, 97% of Americans polled who voted for him in 2020 are ready to support Trump. While an extremely small number of voters have switched to the Democratic Party candidate’s camp. 83% of his former supporters are ready to vote for Biden again. But 10% of those who voted four years ago now support Trump.
The NYT notes that 43% of registered voters are currently ready to vote for Biden. 48% are ready to vote for Trump. Men support the Republican more – 49% versus 40%. The shares of women who sympathize with Trump and Biden are equal – 46% each. The survey data shows that Biden is supported by young people aged 18-29 and citizens over 65. Trump voters are people aged 30-64.
The New York Times/Siena College poll of 980 registered voters nationwide was conducted Feb. 25-28, 2024. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 3.5 percentage points for registered voters and plus or minus 3.8 percentage points for the likely electorate.
