US President Joe Biden is healthy and fit, the White House doctor announced after his annual health check. “He remains a healthy, strong 78-year-old man, fit to perform the duties of a president.”
Biden had to undergo a bowel examination. That examination, also called a colonoscopy, coincided with the annual check that American presidents must do. During the examination, a benign polyp was found that could be easily removed, said doctor Kevin O’Connor. The results of the examination of the tissue are expected next week.
No serious problems were discovered during the previous medical examination in 2019. Biden did have a relatively high amount of fat in his blood and an irregular heartbeat. He takes medication for that.

Because Biden was sedated during the investigation, he was replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris for 1.5 hours. Therefore, it was the first time in history that power in America was temporarily transferred to a woman. Biden has since taken over again.
The president turns 79 years old today.
