US President Joe Biden Condolences to the victim’s family helicopter crash in Kyiv, Ukraine. Biden considered this incident to be a heartbreaking tragedy.
“We mourn with all those who mourn this heartbreaking tragedy,” Biden said in a statement, reported by AFP, Thursday (19/1/2023).
To note, the death toll in the helicopter crash incident on the outskirts of Kiev, Ukraine is 18 people. The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Denys Monastyrskyi and his ministry officials were also killed in the incident that occurred near a Kindergarten (TK) and this residential building.
As reported by the Associated Press and CNN, Wednesday (18/1/2023), the head of the Kiev Regional Military Authority Oleksiy Kuleba in a recent statement via Telegram said the death toll had now reached at least 18 people. Kuleba said that three of the dead were children.
Kuleba added that 29 other people, including 15 children, were injured in the crash. Previously he said that children and employees were in the kindergarten in the city of Brovary when the incident occurred on Wednesday (18/1) local time.
In a separate statement, the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klymenko confirmed that Interior Minister Monastyrskyi died in the crash.
Two other high-ranking Interior Ministry officials who died were identified as Yevhen Yenin who served as First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Yurii Lubkovych who served as State Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
