Biden does not expect a “major initiative” from China to supply arms to Russia

US President Joe Biden said that Washington is not aware of the supply of weapons to Russia from China. He does not expect a “major initiative” from Beijing in this regard. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has previously accused China of supplying Russia with non-lethal military aid and claimed that Beijing is considering sending weapons.

“I don’t expect (supplies.— “uh”), we haven’t seen it yet. But I do not expect a major initiative from China to transfer weapons to Russia,” Mr. Biden said. ABC. The President noted that Washington would respond in the event of such supplies.

Biden recounted his conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the summer of 2022. He drew the attention of his Chinese colleague to the fact that 600 American companies, including McDonald’s and Exxon, left Russia after the troops entered Ukraine. “And I said, ‘If you do this kind of atrocity by supporting the atrocities that are happening… you can face the same consequences,'” the US president said.

According to The Wall Street Journal, US authorities are currently exploring the possibility of publishing intelligence about China’s arms supplies to Russia, but no final decision has been made. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that information about Chinese arms supplies to Russia is speculation.
