The White House said Iran’s actions and policies, including the proliferation and development of missiles and other asymmetric and conventional weapons capabilities, its regional aggression networks and campaigns, its support for terrorist groups, and the malign activities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“For this reason, the national state of emergency declared on March 15, 1995, must continue to take effect after March 15, 2021,” he continued, as reported by Tass on Sunday (7/3/2021).

Iran itself has not responded to the Biden administration’s decision to extend the sanctions. Tehran itself has previously urged Washington to lift all sanctions under the nuclear treaty.
