A White House Official Confronts Biden’s Foreign Policy Blunders After Iran’s Attack

A top White House official faced tough questioning from Fox News host Bill Hemmer regarding President Biden’s handling of foreign policy in the face of Iran’s recent direct attack on Israel.

Over the weekend, Biden warned Iran against attacking Israel, but despite this, the Islamic Republic fired a devastating arsenal of 170 drones, over 30 cruise missiles, and more than 120 ballistic missiles towards Israel on Saturday, as reported by the IDF.

Hemmer wasted no time challenging the official. “Joe Biden said, ‘don’t do it,’ but [Iran] did anyway. John Kirby is with us now,” Hemmer said, introducing the White House national security communications advisor.

Concerns over Biden’s Record

During the interview, Hemmer outlined several apparent blunders of President Biden’s foreign policy, starting with the messy Afghanistan withdrawal and the failure to deter Russia’s incursion into Ukraine. Hemmer also highlighted the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, causing immense damage, and pointed out that this attack from Iran was unprecedented. Additionally, the interviewer raised concerns over China’s substantial military buildup.

In response, Kirby defended Biden, claiming that American strength and persuasion have improved under his administration. However, when pressed to provide concrete examples, Kirby did not provide a satisfactory response.

Controversial Decision to Waive Sanctions on Iran

Another query Hemmer addressed was the issue of the Biden administration considering allowing Iran to access billions of dollars through the sanctions waiver. Hemmer questioned the policy’s conflict with Iran’s support for Hamas and the recent attack on Israel. Kirby, in his response, mentioned that the waiver was an ongoing issue and emphasized the dependence of the Iraqi people on energy resources from Iran.

Republican Criticism and Biden’s Response

Republican senators, including Lindsey Graham and Marsha Blackburn, criticized President Biden’s perceived lack of deterrence, citing Iran’s disregard for his warnings. They pointed out that the previous administration had successfully imposed financial pressure on Iran, which Biden has subsequently reversed. However, Biden defended his stance, praising Israel’s ability to defend itself against the attack and asserting his commitment to its security.

This incident once again highlights the ongoing debate over Biden’s foreign policy and its effectiveness in maintaining American strength on the global stage.
