Biden boarded a plane that had just landed in confusion, and this is how his vice president reacted

US President Joe Biden has received three US citizens held in Russian prison as part of a hostage release deal with Vladimir Putin.

They arrived in Texas early Friday morning to undergo a medical and psychological check-up at a military center, but first they touched down on U.S. soil at Andrews Air Force Base, outside Washington. There they were greeted by Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and their families.

Once the hostages got off the plane, Biden climbed the stairs and entered the aircraft, where he remained for about two minutes. From outside, Harris waited for him, stunned by the situation, as could be seen in the video shared on social media.

“[Biden] “He legitimately has no idea where he is or what he’s doing,” criticized one X (formerly Twitter) user.

Following the incident, former Marine Paul Whelan and journalists Evan Gershkovich and Alsu Kurmasheva — the three American citizens released in Russia — boarded another flight to San Antonio, Texas, to enter Brooke Army Medical Center, where all three agreed to undergo a program called PISA (post-isolation support activities).

As part of the prisoner exchange, 16 people were released from Russian prisons and eight were released from prisons in the United States, Germany, Poland, Slovenia and Norway.
