Biden Bans Citizens from Visiting Indonesia, What’s Up with the US?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The United States (US) asked its citizens not to go to Indonesia. This is stated in the travel advice (travel advisory) issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs of President Joe Biden’s government, Monday (14/2/2022) local time.

RI is in “Level 4” which means “Don’t Travel”. “Don’t travel to Indonesia because of Covid-19,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the website travel.state.goquoted Tuesday (15/2/2022).

This step is carried out in conjunction with the issuance of recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Indonesia is in the “Level 3” category for Covid-19, which indicates a high level of corona.

“Travelers may be forced to remain in quarantine for extended periods of time and pay all quarantine fees. Your risk of contracting Covid-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with the FDA’s official vaccines,” the department wrote.

“Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC’s specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers.”

Not only Covid-19, the issue of terrorism and the potential for natural disasters is also another cause. Civil unrest is said to be vulnerable in Central Sulawesi and Papua.

“Terrorists can attack with little or no warning, targeting police stations, places of worship, hotels, bars, nightclubs, markets/shopping centers, and restaurants,” the ministry wrote.

“Natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis or volcanic eruptions can disrupt transportation, infrastructure, sanitation and the availability of health services.”

Apart from Indonesia, other countries classified as Level 4 by the US Department of Foreign Affairs are South Korea (South Korea) and Azerbaijan.

quote Worldometers today, Indonesia recorded 36,501 new cases yesterday with 145 deaths. There are currently 375,857 active cases.
