Biden attacks Musk for working illegally in the US

New York. US President Joe Biden criticized Elon Musk for his hypocrisy on immigration after a report was published that the Tesla CEO came to work in the United States without legal authorization. Musk, born in South Africa, denied the accusation.

“That richest man in the world turned out to be an illegal worker here. No, I’m serious. He was supposed to be at school when he arrived on a student visa.

I wasn’t at school. He was breaking the law. And now you’re talking about all these illegals coming in?” Biden said at a campaign event on Saturday in Pittsburgh at a union hall.

He Washington Post reported that Musk worked illegally in the United States on a student visa. The newspaper, citing company documents, former business partners and court documents, reported that Musk arrived in Palo Alto, California in 1995 for a graduate program at Stanford University “but never enrolled in courses, instead working on his startup”.

Musk wrote on Musk added: “The Biden puppet is lying.”

Investors in Musk’s company, Zip2, were concerned about the possibility of its founder being deported, according to the report, and gave him a deadline to obtain a work visa. The newspaper also cited a 2005 email from Musk to his Tesla co-founders acknowledging that he was not authorized to reside in the United States when he started Zip2.

According to the story, that email was submitted as evidence in a now-closed defamation lawsuit in California and said that Musk had applied to go to Stanford so he could remain in the United States legally.

Musk is currently the richest man in the world. He has committed more than $70 million to help Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and other Republican candidates win the Nov. 5 election, and is one of the party’s largest donors this campaign season. He has headlined events in the final stretch of the White House race, often repeating Trump’s dark anti-immigration rhetoric.

Trump has pledged to give Musk a position in his administration if he wins next month.

At the moment there has been no response to messages left with X and Tesla requesting comments from Musk.
