Biden Approves Texas Declaration of Major Disaster

As a result, Texas has access to more federal funding. Federal funding will go to 77 of the 254 Texas counties, The Hill said.

Residents will also be able to apply for affordable loans to cover the loss of their uninsured property, temporary housing assistance, and subsidies to help with home repairs. Oklahoma and Texas have approved an emergency declaration. The US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) also provided 60 generators, 729,000 liters of water, 60,000 blankets, and 225,000 food supplies to Texas to support critical facilities such as hospitals and water.

President Biden also said he hopes to visit Texas unless it burdens the state. The visit is expected to take place next week.
