Biden announces new security aid package for Ukraine

Biden said his administration will continue to accelerate the provision of weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

United States President Joe Biden welcomed the Senate’s decision to support new aid package for Ukraine.

This is stated in a statement released by the White House on May 19. Radio Liberty.

At the same time, Biden said his administration will continue to accelerate the provision of weapons and equipment to Ukraine.

“Today, I am announcing another security assistance package that will provide additional artillery, radars and other equipment to Ukraine that they already use so effectively on the battlefield. This weaponry and equipment will go directly to the front line in defending freedom in Ukraine,” the president said.

He welcomed a “clear bipartisan message” from Congress on the United States’ support for Ukraine. The US President expressed the opinion that the support package adopted by the legislators will allow Washington both to send more weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, and to replenish its own stocks and support its troops stationed on the territory of NATO countries.

As UNIAN reported, the Senate of the United States of America on May 19 finally approved the package emergency military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine for $40 billion.
