The president of United States, Joe Bidenand his main Republican rival, former President Donald Trumpthey started the election year in a tiesince many Americans seem unenthusiastic with their options, revealed a survey of Reuters/Ipsos.
He 35% of those surveyed in the country said they would vote for Bidenand identical percentage to that who said they would vote for Trump.
Almost one third of those surveyed indicated that I did not support any of the candidates. And 13% said they would not votewhile 9% indicated that they would support another candidate and 8% were unsure.

When it came to choosing between the two, respondents were evenly divided, with a 48% in favor of each.
The survey revealed a clear interest in third party candidates. The anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr.descendant of the famous political dynasty that presents itself as independent, obtained the support of the 18% of respondents when it was included as an option. Thus, Biden’s support among three candidates fell to 29% and Trump’s to 30%.
The random online survey polled 4,677 American adults nationwide and did not focus on specific early voting states, such as Iowa and New Hampshire. The survey was conducted between Jan. 3 and Jan. 9 and has a margin of error of about 1.5 percentage points.

However, it shows that Biden and Trump begin the year as big favorites for the nomination in their parties.
Trump leads his Republican rivals by a margin of more than 37 percentage points, while the other two contenders for the Democratic nomination garnered no more than 2% support from party voters.

The survey revealed the polarized state of American politicssince the 76% of Democrats said they would vote for Biden in the elections of November 5 and 76% of Republicans said they would support Trump.
Los Independent voters were not enthusiastic about either candidate. Only 17% said they would vote for Trump and 11% for Biden.
