Time magazine on Thursday elected President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, as the People of the Year 2020.
Among the nominees for that designation were also Anthony Fauci and health workers; el presidente Donald Trump; and the racial justice movement emerged after police attacks on African Americans.
Trump, who won the distinction in 2016, lost this year’s election to his Democratic rival Biden.
Meanwhile, the Lakers basketball player, LeBron James was chosen Athlete of the Yearwhile Korean band BTS was cast as Artist of the Year.
Health workers Anthony Fauci and organizers of the racial justice movement, who were nominated for Person of the Year, were named as Guardians of the Year.
Last weekend, in an unprecedented way, the magazine named 15-year-old scientist, Gitanjali Rao, as the Youth of the Year.
Also, rescue animals were named Pet of the Year.
