Joe Biden recently declared that America is back. Back at home, since after having been by far the country most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the effective vaccination policy now allows the United States to see the end of the tunnel. A vaccination policy which is accompanied by a historic stimulus plan of 1,900 billion dollars.
America back, the expression refers above all to the foreign policy of the new administration which succeeds the Trumpian “diplomacy”. Washington is certainly showing itself to be more multilateralist today, but Biden and his Secretary of State Antony Blinken have demonstrated in recent days their firmness, even their aggressiveness towards the two main rivals of the United States: Moscow and Beijing.
