Biden Administration Authorizes Transfer of More Bombs and Fighter Jets to Israel Amid Calls for Peace – Latest Updates

The Joe Biden administration has authorized the transfer of more bombs and fighter jets to Israel amid talks to restore peace. The approval comes after the US expressed concern over the military strike by the Israeli army in Rafah.

The new weapons packages include 1,800 MK84 2,000-pound bombs, 500 MK82 500-pound bombs and 25 F-35s, which were first approved by the US Congress in 2008 as part of a larger package, the Washington Post reported. But the White House has not responded to the arms transfer. The Israeli Embassy in Washington did not comment on the issue.

The package comes amid international criticism of Israel for its deadly airstrikes on the Gaza Strip in response to a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7 last year.
