Bid Value 4669 Crores – Chandrika Daily

Women’s IPL auction is over. The auction ended ahead of the inaugural season. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah announced the completion of the auction on Twitter. The Board has approved 5 franchises for the teams in the Women’s Indian Premier League. The total bid value is Rs 4669 crore. Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Lucknow are the five cities participating in the inaugural Women’s Premier League.

Ahmedabad owns the franchise through Adani Sportsline Private Limited, the sports venture of the Adani Group. The Ahmedabad team received the highest bid of Rs 1289 crore.

Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd spent Rs 912.99 crore for the Mumbai franchise and Royal Challengers Group, which owns Bengaluru’s men’s team, bought the teams for Rs 901 crore in the women’s edition of the T20 league.

The Shem Group, the owners of the Delhi Capitals team in the men’s tournament, acquired the team for Rs 810 crore. The newcomers in the league are Capri Global, which spent Rs 757 crore to acquire the Lucknow franchise.
