Bicycles with prices below Rp. 3 million are bestsellers

The manufacturer of the Element brand bicycle, PT Roda Maju Bahagia, admits that currently there is a shift in the interest of the public to prefer folding bikes in the range of Rp. 2 million to Rp. 5 million. CEO of Roda Maju Bahagia, Hendra explained that previously many people bought bicycles in the range of Rp. 5 million to Rp. 10 million.

As for now, according to Hendra, the trend of society is shifting to cheaper products, namely in the class of IDR 5 million and below, especially if around IDR 3 million Hendra says it is even more salable. “According to our calculations, from October to December this trend will continue, so the company will hit bike production in the range of Rp. 2 million to Rp. 5 million to anticipate the demand,” Hendra told Kontan.co.id, Friday (30/10). ).

Hendra detailed that his folding bicycle product that is being loved by the public is the Element E-Cosmo Bosque bicycle in collaboration with Baim Wong, which is pegged at around Rp. 3.75 million (retail price). Then the Texas Element Police Bike to Work Folding Bike is priced above IDR 3 million and the Police Bike Folding Bike which costs approximately IDR 2.5 million.

As for fulfilling the demand for bicycles in the market, Hendra said that the Roda Maju Bahagia factory was maintained at the level of 70% -80%, even overtime for one hour to two hours per day. Of course, with overtime production of bicycles will increase, namely in the range of 1,000 units-1,200 units per day, whereas if not overtime is only in the range of 800 units of bicycles.

For information, the Roda Maju Bahagia factory currently has three production lines. Two special production lines for folding bicycles.

Although the factory continues to operate at maximum utilization, Hendra emphasized that this does not mean that the current demand for bicycles has increased. According to him, the demand for bicycles was still the same as the previous month. it’s just that there is a shift in the interest of the people who are more inclined to buy cheap products. On the other hand, because it is the rainy season, it may cause purchasing power to see a slight decline.

So until next year, Hendra predicts the composition of revenue from folding bikes will still dominate, namely in the range of 60% -70% and the rest from other bicycle products.
