Bicimarket increases its business volume by 50% in 2021, up to 18 million euros

Bicimarket keeps climbing. The cycling merchandise distribution company will close 2021 with a turnover of 18 million euros, 50% more than in the year of Covid-19. In direct billing, the company will close the course with an increase of 20%, up to 6.7 million euros.

The company currently has 110 attached stores and workshops, seven more than before the summer and aims to reach 150 adhesions in Spain in 2022, a year in which it expects to continue its growth and exceed twenty million in business volume. “The growth in accessions has skyrocketed because stores seek to ensure their supply”, explains Sergi Serra, maximum shareholder and founder of the company, to Palco23. In this context, Bicimarket will continue betting on adhering more to stores.

According to the executive, the sector has dragged on for several months with limited supply due to transport problems, the increase in raw materials or the effects on production due to Covid-19. “Little by little it is being restored, but not in an orderly manner,” he says.

In this line, the manager criticized that the arrivals of material are produced in a highly concentrated way by models or brands and assures that there will be a “readjustment” in the sector. “In some categories there is a lot of stock, even too much, and in others, a shortage; It gives me the feeling, as stocks arrive, that planning has not been done in an efficient way ”, he sentenced. As for the electric bicycle, the fashion trend, the manager affirms that it is where there are more supply problems because it needs more varied components.

On the other hand, Serra also believes that boom Cycling has ended months ago and the sector is being readjusted since those who were new users have already made their acquisitions. “The supervening demand is being rebalanced, we will have a new scenario that will be neither the post-pandemic nor the 2019 one,” predicts the businessman. “Since summer the less technical, recreational or playful public has been deactivated; but the demand within the more technical segment is maintained ”, he assures.
