Public Collection 2024 League Against Cancer News Bicentennial Volunteers

The Bicentennial Special Project of the Ministry of Culture, through more than 100 bicentennial volunteers, joins the League against cancer in the Public Gathering 2024, whose main events will be August 22 and 23 day. On both days, while carrying corporate pig banks, they will support the work of collecting donations in the tents that will be installed in different areas of Metropolitan Lima.
Representing the Minister of Culture, Leslie Urteaga, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries, Carmen Vegas, highlighted the importance of the participation of volunteers in this collection.
“We are proud that more than 100 bicentennial volunteers are joining this noble initiative and that they are part of the history of our republic, a history of loyalty and commitment to others,” he said.
He said that the union allowed us to face the royal army 200 years ago and end almost three centuries of colonization, and it is the union that Peru wants to achieve our goals. “We know the difficult process involved in dealing with a disease like cancer, but we are also sure that together, like 200 years ago, we can make a real difference in ‘ deal with the worrying situation of cancer in our country,” he said.
“We trust the work of our Bicentenary volunteers, who have demonstrated their commitment to independent and supportive work; and we also trust in every Peruvian man and woman that they will give their gifts with enthusiasm and love to their neighbors,” he said.
With the launch of the Public Gathering 2024, whose main objective is to increase the culture of prevention, the League against Cancer announced that 30 tents will be distributed this year in Cercado de Lima, Surco, Miraflores, Jesús María, San Isidro, Los Angeles. Olivos, Pueblo Libre, San Miguel, La Molina, San Borja, among other areas.
In this issue, several famous people from our country came together as ambassadors of the fundraising campaign. Among them: Fátima Chávez, Marisol García, Julio Fernández, Gonzalo Iwasaki, Leslie Stewart, Marisol Aguirre, Gonzalo Iwasaki, Junior Silva, Nicolás Salazar Mariella Zanetti and Maria Fernanda Montenegro, as well as Junior Silva, host of the television program Modo Bicentenario del Special Bicentennial Proyecto. In addition, companies such as Aceros Arequipa, Unilabs and Rímac support this noble cause.
