Winter sports enthusiasts can breathe a sigh of relief – the new biathlon season has begun. Latvian biathletes also take part in the World Cup stage, which will take place in Kontiolahti, Finland. Live broadcast on LTV7 and REPLAY.lv.
Men will start in the 20-kilometer distance on Saturday. Latvia is represented by Latvia’s leading biathlete Andrejs Rastotgujevs, Roberts Slotiņš and Rūdis Balodis. Rastorgujev goes to the track with number 11, Slotiņš with number 59, and debutant Balodis with number 87. 101 biathletes have applied for the competition.
At 17.30 LTV7 and REPLAY.lv will join Kontiolahti to broadcast the competition in the 15 km distance for ladies. 103 biathletes have entered the competition and Annija Keita Sabule is among them. Unfortunately for Bendika, this stage is coming to an end, because in the training camp in Sweden she and the head coach of the national team Ilmārs Bricis found a positive result of the Covid-19 test.
