The Biathlon World Cup is scheduled to have four episodes this calendar year, but only in two venues. The International Union of the IBU announced today that the Finnish Kontiolahti Center and the Austrian Hochfilzen will host two races in November and December to minimize travel during the coronavirus pandemic.

At the same time, the IBU stated that the November congress, at which Nové Město na Moravě should be confirmed by the organizer of the 2024 World Championships, will not take place in Prague, but online. Originally, the Czech capital was to host the congress in September, later it was postponed to November 13-15. It will take place virtually on the same date.
The new World Cup season will begin as scheduled on November 27 in Kontiolahti. The biathletes will stay in Finland for the next week and leave the races there, which were supposed to be in Östersund, Sweden. Similarly, Hochfilzen will organize two parts in December, and the French Annecy will lose their races.
The IBU has confirmed that it expects the world championships in Pokljuka, Slovenia, from 9 to 21 February 2021. The Union will decide on the January World Cup races in October. In November, he will determine the program for February and March. In the preliminary calendar, the penultimate work of the series from March 8 to 14 is a stop in Nové Město.
