The blood drive on Monday, May 10 at the multi-purpose room of Biars-sur-Cère, took place for the first time with prior appointments made with donors, i.e. 6 per quarter of an hour, therefore 96 possible donors, with the EFS website or by phone. At the opening of the samples in the room, the list presented 82 registered donors. Very encouraging for a first! With the registrants and the donors who came without an appointment, the collection was very satisfactory: 93 donors presented themselves, 88 were collected including 6 new donors. As usual, the volunteers of the association welcomed the generous donors and ensured the respect of the current protocol. Despite a few duplicates or errors in making appointments, on the whole the donors were satisfied with the progress of this collection. The schedules of their appointments being respected, the waiting time was much shorter and their presence in the room did not exceed half an hour. This new organization recommended by the EFS can only improve. Walk-in donors can come and donate their blood but will have a certain wait. After their donations, each donor was able to receive an invigorating snack served by the volunteers of the association with pastries, various sandwiches prepared by them on site, dried or seasonal fruits and cold or hot drinks at will.
The Amicale and the staff of the FFDSB make an appointment with the generous citizens for the next collection on Monday, July 19 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the same multipurpose room in Biars-sur-Cère.
